Clans

Clans are the teams in Quest for Yap, in other games similar teams may be called alliances or guilds.

Clans are a group of players usually from different races. The winners at the end of the game are determined by clan. Participation in a clan is crucial to your success.

You can manage your clan by clicking on the Clans link on the right side of the screen in the game. You can create a clan of your own if you wish, but if you are new to the game it is better to join someone else's clan. Learning from your clan mates is the best thing a new player to the game can do.

Clans are often organized in personal messages before the start of a round. However, you can also advertise that you are looking for a clan by posting in the Forum corresponding to the game you are in. In addition, clan leaders may also post that they are looking for a clan mate. Alternately, you can see a list of Clan Owners in the clans page, asking these people if you can join is another way to find a clan.

Clans have a limited number of members, 4 in the Original game, 3 in Melee, so keep this in mind. Also note that clans are more rare in the Newbies Game. If you are in the Newbies Game, you should just focus on the tutorial and move on to Original as soon as possible.

The Clan Bank is an important part of clans. Anyone in the clan has access, so you have to trust your clanmates! Don't take money from the clan unless the leader has okayed it, or you may be kicked out of the clan and other clans won't want you.

If you are a clan leader, you can put players on Probation. This will prevent them from leaving the clan without your permission and will deny them access to the bank.
